Natura recalls all brands: Innova, California Natural, EVO, Healthwise, Mother Nature and Karma pet foods, treats

Today, Proctor & Gamble owned Natura made the stunning announcement that they have ordered a recall of all, that’s right all, Innova, California Natural, EVO, Healthwise, Mother Nature and Karma brands dry pet foods and all their biscuits, bars, and treat pet products for dogs and cats, puppies and kittens, with expiration dates prior to June 10, 2014 — which is nearly everything they have on the market.

Natura’s explanation is that this enormous recall was prompted by a single positive Salmonella test by the FDA seems unlikely, but nevertheless that is how they are spinning it. Natura explains:

“Normally, this would have resulted in retrieval of product manufactured over just a few days. However, we are taking the additional precautionary measure to recall all products in the marketplace”.

Natura, owned by Procter & Gamble, has come under fire recently after similar problems with contaminated pet food, prompting a nation-wide recall of pet food in March, later expanding to a global recall in April.
