Diamond, you really suck at recalls

blinking dog cinemagraph

Incredibly, Diamond screwed up again. Don’t ask me how they do it. I really don’t know.

Last Friday, late in the afternoon, Diamond, pulled another one of their tacky Friday-drop & run-recalls. But this one was special, it had red flags all over it. For instance, they accidentally on purpose forgot to mention that the pet food involved was made at an entirely different plant (uh oh!) and that some of the pet food remained un-packaged at that plant for up to 7 weeks after it was made (ew!).

Today, Diamond corrects Friday’s recall (oops!) with an announcement that they got one of the best-before dates wrong (hate it when that happens). But, I warn you — do not to follow the link to the Original Press Release or I guarantee you’ll end up hopelessly confused; because inexplicably it links back to a recall notice on April 6, 2012.

I give up.
